About Kevin R Vincent

My name is Kevin Vincent, MD, PhD, and I am the John H. and Mary Lou Dasburg Chair of the University of Florida Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. I also serve as the director of the UF Health Running Medicine Clinic and the medical director of the UF Health Sports Performance Center. I received my doctorate degree in exercise physiology and my medical degree from UF. Following medical school, I completed my residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Virginia, where I was elected chief resident. My clinical interests include running medicine, sports medicine and musculoskeletal medicine with a particular emphasis on overuse injuries and strength training. I am active with research and have published numerous articles, specifically in the areas of running medicine, sports medicine, sports nutrition, resistance exercise and exercise adaptations in healthy and clinical populations. I particularly enjoy lecturing at conferences nationwide about running medicine and its related injuries.

As a physician, it is my goal to help all my patients reach their highest level of function so they can achieve their goals and enjoy their desired lifestyle. My approach to care involves the patient and their loved ones in the decision-making process so we are working as a team, developing the treatment plan and setting goals tailored to the needs of each patient.

In my free time, I enjoy exercising, leading an active lifestyle and spending time with my family. It is rarely quiet or dull in our house. In addition to our busy careers, my wife and I have three sons, two dogs and five exotic birds, so there is always something going on. We cherish the few quiet moments at the end of the day when we can unwind and relax.
