Outstanding International Student Award for PhD Student Jay Nair

Nair_International_AwardRehabilitation Science student, Jay Nair, was recognized for outstanding accomplishments on November 17th by the University of Florida International Center. Jay’s novel research project focuses on how sensory afferent neurons in the diaphragm are influenced by spinal cord injury.  A licensed physical therapist, Jay has contributed extensively to the teaching mission of the Department of Physical Therapy through his work as a Teaching Assistant.   He also serves as a volunteer therapist for Balance 180, a local non-profit organization working to develop a new model for recreational and competitive sports within the community that serves children and young people with varying abilities and needs.
